Hi there! :) I’m Emily~

My life-experience with creativity and the arts all began with my poor-as-church-mice parents. They brought me home to a teency-beency apartment above a garage in San Francisco in 1973 and made my bed out of a chest of drawers; as the money they’d been gifted for a crib had been spent on a stereo system.  As life began, I continued to be packed into a culture of music, art and performance, and I grew to prefer the snug fit between singing and acting.

When I was 13, my dad got me a job at the Frankfurt Playhouse in Frankfurt, Germany where he spent his play time after pretending to be an army-guy at work. I was paid $2.40 an hour to paint muslin, cut chicken wire, mop rehearsal studios, answer phones, and buy cigarettes and chocolate for the artistic director.  Since then, I’ve acted and sung, stage managed and produced, written, directed and designed for concerts, stage and film in community theaters, professional theaters and school auditoriums west of and just barely east of the Mississippi.
